Ulster Hall COVID-Secure Venue
We are delighted to create a world-class stage where people make great things happen.
The health and safety of all visitors remains our priority. Led by government guidance and supported by industry best practice, our team has undertaken comprehensive risk assessments to mitigate against the transmission of COVID-19. All team members have also completed thorough COVID-19 workplace training to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all.
We are committed to providing a COVID-Secure environment for everyone, but we’re relying on you to play your part too:
- If you are feeling unwell do not visit our venue
- If you have been identified as a close contact of someone with COVID-19 and are fully vaccinated, you are advised to isolate and take a lateral flow device (LFD) test as soon as possible. Close contacts who are not fully vaccinated should self-isolate immediately for 10 days.
- Wash your hands regularly and practice good hand and oral hygiene
- Wear a face-covering (unless medically exempt)
- Follow social distancing guidelines and directional signage
Our safety measures remain under constant review and we will adjust them in line with latest guidance. Further detail on the enhanced safety measures is as follows:

Face coverings
Although wearing a face covering is no longer a legal requirement, it is still strongly recommended in our venues.
Social distancing
Entry to performances will be by e-ticket only. On arrival at the venue, you will be directed to your seat by a member of our team. Please be mindful that we would like to minimise the number of times you have to pass by other parties in their seating row and that dancing is not permitted at seated events.
E-tickets
We have introduced e-tickets for all of our events to reduce touchpoints and physical interactions. These tickets can be used on our contactless scanning units. On arrival, please have the barcode on your phone ready to be scanned.
If you are unable to access your e-ticket please email our Box Office, [email protected]
Please note that for any ticket purchases made in our venues, a cashless system is in operation.
Sanitising Stations
Hand sanitising facilities have been provided at entry points and key locations throughout the venue.
Enhanced cleaning
Our cleaning partner Mitie are one of the UK’s leading cleaning service providers. Their highly trained team is at the heart of our COVID-Secure venue operations, providing an enhanced cleaning service to focus on high touch points with products that meet PHA guidance. We will also have adequate supplies of warm water and soap in our washroom facilities at all times.
We remind our patrons of the importance of washing your hands with soap and water when you can - this is the most effective way of cleaning your hands.
Toilet Facilities
Our toilets will be cleaned regularly as part of our enhanced cleaning protocol, some bathrooms may have capacity limits and signage will be in place to provide direction.
Toilet facilities will be operational during performances. This may require another bubble to request access past your seat. We ask all visitors to be considerate and allow space to pass.
Ventilation
The Ulster Hall building has some of the largest air handling units in Northern Ireland. The Ulster Hall venue uses 100% fresh air which is heated or cooled as required by the air handling units to a temperature calculated and controlled by the building management system. Using the principle of displacement ventilation, air is extracted at high levels and discharged from the building.
Following the latest guidance, there is no recirculated air used within the ventilation systems. Fresh air will be supplied to all areas at a minimum rate of 10 litres per second, per person. Toilets will be provided with extract ventilation at the minimum rate of 10 air changes per hour.
Wherever possible we’re opening windows and doors to provide additional natural ventilation.
Signage
Signage has been installed around our venue providing wayfinding, reminders on social distancing in communal areas, hand hygiene and general COVID-19 messaging. We ask that you follow instructions on signage and avoid removing or moving signage.

Anyone travelling into Northern Ireland should follow all relevant travel guidance. The latest travel information for Northern Ireland can be found on the following links:
