Ulster Hall COVID-Secure Venue
We are delighted to welcome audiences back to the Ulster Hall, a venue that has been part of the fabric of Belfast’s entertainment scene for over 150 years.
The health and safety of all visitors remains our priority. Led by government guidance and supported by industry best practice, our team has undertaken comprehensive risk assessments to mitigate against the transmission of COVID-19. All team members have also completed thorough COVID-19 workplace training to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all.
The Ulster Hall has been awarded the ‘We’re Good To Go’ mark, an industry standard demonstrating our commitment to implementing relevant government and public health guidance in relation to COVID-19.
We are committed to providing a COVID-Secure environment for everyone, but we’re relying on you to play your part too:
- If you are feeling unwell do not visit our venue
Self-isolate and do not visit our venue if you have been identified as a close contact of someone with COVID-19 unless you are fully vaccinated, instead seek a PCR test on day 2 and day 8.
- Wash your hands regularly and practice good hand and oral hygiene
- Wear a face-covering (unless medically exempt)
- Follow social distancing guidelines and directional signage
Our safety measures remain under constant review and we will adjust them in line with latest guidance. Further detail on the enhanced safety measures is as follows:
COVID Status Check
All ticketholders aged 18 and over attending events at the Ulster Hall are required to complete a COVID Status Check on arrival at the venue.
Face coverings are mandatory and should be worn throughout your visit, including whilst seated. Face coverings may only be removed whilst eating, drinking or dancing.
Entry to performances will be by e-ticket only. On arrival at the venue, you will be directed to your seat by a member of our team. Please be mindful that we would like to minimise the number of times you have to pass by other parties in their seating row and that dancing is not permitted.
Directional signage will be in place and you are asked to maintain social distancing when in communal areas.
We have introduced e-tickets for all of our events to reduce touchpoints and physical interactions. These tickets can be used on our contactless scanning units. On arrival, please have the barcode on your phone ready to be scanned.
If you are unable to access your e-ticket please email our Box Office, [email protected]
Please note that for any ticket purchases made in our venues, a cashless system is in operation.
To support the Contact Tracing Service (which is operated by the Public Health Agency in Northern Ireland) we have decided to collect and keep a limited record of visitors who come onto our premises for the purpose of contact tracing. Contact details for all attendees over the age of 16 must be submitted at the time of booking. All attendee details will be stored for 21 days from the date of the event.
We also encourage all patrons to download the StopCOVID NI app.
If someone displays COVID-19 symptoms whilst they are in the venue, they should contact a member of staff to allow us to implement our isolation and track and trace procedures.
Testing (not mandatory if an alternative method is used to demonstrate COVID Status)
The Government recommends anyone attending an event should test themselves no more than 48 hours in advance of attending an event, and on days 2 and 8 following the event.
Rapid COVID-19 tests can be obtained by anyone who requires them, free of charge. Rapid test packs can be ordered online for free delivery to your home. Order tests on the Gov.uk website.
Hand sanitising facilities have been provided at entry points and key locations throughout the venue.
Our cleaning partner Mitie are one of the UK’s leading cleaning service providers. Their highly trained team is at the heart of our COVID-Secure venue operations, providing an enhanced cleaning service to focus on high touch points with products that meet PHA guidance. We will also have adequate supplies of warm water and soap in our washroom facilities at all times.
We remind our patrons of the importance of washing your hands with soap and water when you can - this is the most effective way of cleaning your hands.
Our toilets will be cleaned regularly as part of our enhanced cleaning protocol, some bathrooms may have capacity limits and signage will be in place to provide direction.
Toilet facilities will be operational during performances. This may require another bubble to request access past your seat. We ask all visitors to be considerate and allow space to pass.
The Ulster Hall building has some of the largest air handling units in Northern Ireland. The Ulster Hall venue uses 100% fresh air which is heated or cooled as required by the air handling units to a temperature calculated and controlled by the building management system. Using the principle of displacement ventilation, air is extracted at high levels and discharged from the building.
Following the latest guidance, there is no recirculated air used within the ventilation systems. Fresh air will be supplied to all areas at a minimum rate of 10 litres per second, per person. Toilets will be provided with extract ventilation at the minimum rate of 10 air changes per hour.
Wherever possible we’re opening windows and doors to provide additional natural ventilation.
Whilst there is no longer a requirement for social distancing in hospitality settings we do encourage patrons to socially distance where possible. To assist with this we ask that patrons limit themselves to one person per party accessing the bar. Please note that a cashless system is in operation in our bars and contactless payment methods are preferred.
Signage has been installed around our venue providing wayfinding, reminders on social distancing in communal areas, hand hygiene and general COVID-19 messaging. We ask that you follow instructions on signage and avoid removing or moving signage.
