Ulster Hall COVID-Secure Venue

We are delighted to create a world-class stage where people make great things happen.

The health and safety of all visitors remains our priority. Led by government guidance and supported by industry best practice, our team has undertaken comprehensive risk assessments to mitigate against the transmission of COVID-19. All team members have also completed thorough COVID-19 workplace training to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all.

We are committed to providing a COVID-Secure environment for everyone, but we’re relying on you to play your part too:

  • If you are feeling unwell do not visit our venue
  • If you have been identified as a close contact of someone with COVID-19 and are fully vaccinated, you are advised to isolate and take a lateral flow device (LFD) test as soon as possible. Close contacts who are not fully vaccinated should self-isolate immediately for 10 days.
  • Wash your hands regularly and practice good hand and oral hygiene
  • Wear a face-covering (unless medically exempt)
  • Follow social distancing guidelines and directional signage

Our safety measures remain under constant review and we will adjust them in line with latest guidance. Further detail on the enhanced safety measures is as follows:

Face coverings

Although wearing a face covering is no longer a legal requirement, it is still strongly recommended in our venues.

Social distancing

Entry to performances will be by e-ticket only. On arrival at the venue, you will be directed to your seat by a member of our team. Please be mindful that we would like to minimise the number of times you have to pass by other parties in their seating row and that dancing is not permitted at seated events.

E-tickets

We have introduced e-tickets for all of our events to reduce touchpoints and physical interactions. These tickets can be used on our contactless scanning units. On arrival, please have the barcode on your phone ready to be scanned.

If you are unable to access your e-ticket please email our Box Office, [email protected]

Please note that for any ticket purchases made in our venues, a cashless system is in operation.

Sanitising Stations

Hand sanitising facilities have been provided at entry points and key locations throughout the venue.

Enhanced cleaning

Our cleaning partner Mitie are one of the UK’s leading cleaning service providers. Their highly trained team is at the heart of our COVID-Secure venue operations, providing an enhanced cleaning service to focus on high touch points with products that meet PHA guidance. We will also have adequate supplies of warm water and soap in our washroom facilities at all times.

We remind our patrons of the importance of washing your hands with soap and water when you can - this is the most effective way of cleaning your hands.

Toilet Facilities

Our toilets will be cleaned regularly as part of our enhanced cleaning protocol, some bathrooms may have capacity limits and signage will be in place to provide direction.

Toilet facilities will be operational during performances. This may require another bubble to request access past your seat. We ask all visitors to be considerate and allow space to pass.

Ventilation

The Ulster Hall building has some of the largest air handling units in Northern Ireland. The Ulster Hall venue uses 100% fresh air which is heated or cooled as required by the air handling units to a temperature calculated and controlled by the building management system. Using the principle of displacement ventilation, air is extracted at high levels and discharged from the building.

Following the latest guidance, there is no recirculated air used within the ventilation systems. Fresh air will be supplied to all areas at a minimum rate of 10 litres per second, per person. Toilets will be provided with extract ventilation at the minimum rate of 10 air changes per hour.

Wherever possible we’re opening windows and doors to provide additional natural ventilation.

Signage

Signage has been installed around our venue providing wayfinding, reminders on social distancing in communal areas, hand hygiene and general COVID-19 messaging. We ask that you follow instructions on signage and avoid removing or moving signage.

Travel guidance

Anyone travelling into Northern Ireland should follow all relevant travel guidance. The latest travel information for Northern Ireland can be found on the following links:

Matching Ulster Hall's platinum standards, our providers of hospitality, security and maintenance are working with us to facilitate a seamless and safe event experience.

Coronavirus FAQs

1. The status of my event has changed, what happens to my ticket?

If your event has been cancelled best efforts will be made to contact all lead bookers by email and your refund will be automatically processed. If your event has been rescheduled, we will contact lead bookers by email with the new date. You will have the option to obtain your original ticket for the new show or request a refund if you are unable to attend the new date.

We advise all patrons to check that the email address on our booking system is up to date to ensure that the correct contact information is held. To access your online account and make any changes click here.

2. How long will it take for my refund to be processed?

If your event has been cancelled or you have requested a refund for a rescheduled show, the refund of the face value of the ticket price will be automatically issued to the lead booker and the card the original payment was made, please allow 7 - 10 working days for the refund to be processed.

If you paid for an event by cash, please contact our box office and a member of the team will be in touch to issue your refund.

3. I have used a gift voucher to purchase a ticket, do I get the money refunded back onto the original gift voucher?

A refund of the face value of the ticket(s) paid by the original gift voucher will be issued onto a new gift voucher, a member of the team will be in touch with your new gift voucher code.

4. I haven’t yet received an email from the Waterfront Hall and Ulster Hall regarding whether my event is cancelled or not, when will patrons be notified on event changes?

The Waterfront Hall and Ulster Hall teams are liaising with promoters regularly to get confirmation on the status of events scheduled to be held in our venues in the coming months. Once we have received this information from the promoter and artist, we will communicate this to lead bookers via email. We will also update the event page on the website and post to social media, so please keep an eye on these channels.

5. If events in the coming months are proceeding as scheduled, can I still get a refund on my ticket if I’m anxious about attending mass gatherings?

If you have purchased booking protect, which protects your ticket purchase should you be unable to attend the show for reasons outside of your control, you can avail of a refund; otherwise we cannot refund your ticket. For more information on the areas covered by Booking Protect, please visit our website here.

6. Do I have to wear a mask?

Although wearing a face covering is no longer a legal requirement, it is still strongly recommended in our venues.
