A special BBC Invitation Concert to mark the BBC’s 40-year partnership with the Ulster Orchestra arrives at the Ulster Hall on 8 November 2021.
A mix of new BBC music commissions, classical favourites, and poems by local writers that evoke a sense of the landscape, people, and place.
This concert is a celebration of music and the arts and the role that they play in community life.
It will include a series of guest performances by well-known actors and musicians and it’s a perfect showcase for the talents of the Ulster Orchestra.
Musical pace, range and harmony is what the running order for this concert will provide. And its cast of writers and composers includes Seamus Heaney, Vaughan Williams, Joan Trimble, Bill Whelan and Helen Waddell.
Conductor Stephen Bell will be making a welcome return to Belfast for this BBC recording which will be broadcast on 11 November on BBC Radio Ulster and BBC Radio 3.
