Date

16th January 2020

You've got a text! January can be such a melt, but we know you’ve dusted off your sunglasses and personalised water bottles for the winter Love Island series that has graced ITV2 for the first time.

We see a brand-new host this series, the very glamourous Laura Whitmore and the return of Love Island’s Chairman and star of the series, it’s voiceover legend Iain Stirling. Not a bad way to beat the January blues, a couples trip to Cape Town to soak up the winter sun!

Iain, from Scotchland (his words not ours) will be cracking on with his tour Failing Upwards at the Ulster Hall on 21 May 2020. This show boasts his biggest nationwide tour to date, his quick wit and classic one liners will have your head turned and you can bet there will be lots of belly laughing.

To celebrate Iain’s return to our screens and his hilarious tour coming to the Ulster Hall stage in May, we’ve put together some of his “best bits” from the 2020 series so far and of course, we couldn’t leave out some of the belters from the 2019 summer series!

*Please read these best bits in his accent*

Love Island, Winter 2020

On introducing twins Jess and Eve to the villa: “These pesky producers have welcomed twins Jess and Eve to the villa, I reckon it will be confusing, but they have assured me it’s simple, Jess is the one on the left, wait is that her left or my left? Or is it stage left, what even is stage left? Aw I hold you this would be a night mare!!”

On the first date of the series: “The date team were given a whopping 10 grand budget, looking at those bamboo walls I for one can’t wait to see where the remaining 9,999 quid went!”

Another one on twins Jess and Eve: “That’s right Jess, I mean Eve, ah I’m just going to call you Jeeves”

Love Island, Summer 2019

On Chris Taylor attempting to chat up India Reynolds: “I’m not saying that went badly but I’ve just sent that clip into You’ve Been Framed and earned £250.”

On Danny Williams’ luck with female contestants: “Back in the villa, Jourdan’s chatting to Danny or, as I like to call him, the travel agent because when people hang around him, they always wind up heading to the airport.”

On Love Island Ovie Soko (a.k.a the coolest guy in the villa), whose name sparked a variety of puns: “Someone is Ovie the moon”, “Ovie time might be my favourite time of the day”, “A certain basketball player never Ovie-stays his welcome.”

On Islanders seemingly always opening up to Curtis about their problems: “I strongly advise you seek help from a professional. . . ballroom dancer.”

Make sure you don’t miss out this hilarious tour with Iain’s outstanding observational humour at the Ulster Hall on 21 May 2020.
