Join us for a unique opportunity to see and hear some of the Ulster Hall’s best kept secrets, as your tour guide walks you through the history of one of the oldest purpose-built concert halls in the UK and Ireland.
Designed by William Barre, the architect of Belfast’s famous Albert Clock, the Ulster Hall has, for more than 160 years, hosted some of the most famous figures in cultural history.
From Charles Dickens to the Dalai Lama and legends of music including the Rolling Stones and , the Ulster Hall has had them all.
Visitors will learn how Winston Churchill was once barred from a political event at the venue and Lso how Led Zeppelin debuted their seminal classic Stairway to Heaven there in 1971. The building's history is as colourful and varied as the city which it lies at the heart of.
The Annual European Heritage Open Day, organised by the Department for Communities with the support of the Council of Europe and the European Commission, celebrates local architecture, history, and culture in Northern Ireland. This once-a-year event allows visitors to look behind the scenes at familiar landmarks and learn more about their heritage and architecture.
